Final Music Video

This is our FINAL music video that we edited. We were keen to include a range of different camera
angles such as a panning shot (0:31) long, high angle shots (1:08) tracking shot (2:00) and a mid shot/zoom (1:36). We also made certain to ensure that the natural lighting was similar throught regardless of the fact we shot the video over 4 days on the whole. Personally, I believe the time of year (Novemeber - early December) worked in our advantage as it was fairly easy to predict weather conditions and the dark grey tint reflected the mood of the star, Jordan Kierans, as he walked the park hungover in a depressed state.

I am happy with the final cut we produced as it mimics our origional video inspirations of Coldplay - The Scientist and Ed Sheeran - The A Team as we tried to follow the obvious conventions that those two highly successful videos produced.

These are what inspired me to make my final ancilary products. I had the idea to take album covers from the past that had an RnB, Hip Hop and Rock element to and pitch against each other in a powerpoint to see what made a successful album cover/promotinal poster. This was something I would try to style my ancilary products on.

Here are my final ancilary products for my music video star. I tried to make them as authentic as possible by using the photo editing software Photoshop in order to enhance the features of the images I captured. I decided, that seeing as my music star has an acoustic, rock and RnB vibe that I would try and make a physcodelic pattern throughout the products by changing the font and image tint, along with sharpening, pixilating and sketching tools. I believe I achieved the perfect product to accompany the 'Jordan Kierans Cloud9' brand.

Music Video First Draft

This was a first draft of our music video and (like most new challenges) we encountered a few initial problems i.e. The tri-pod in the top left hand corner at 0:26 and when Jordan leaves his bags by the swings at 1:00 and then suddenly has them again in the next shot. This was something that we will have to go back and re-shoot/edit to get a professional video. Also we have to bring in the narrative of the new character (Felicity) in order to gain a relationship with the audience - a young couple that has fallen in/half out of love.

This was our way of planning our shots. This gave us a clear idea of what we needed to do and when we needed to do it. Not only did it keep us on track with our plans, it also gave us a basic structure in which to follow in order to shoot a successful video.

This is a storyboard on what type of shots we will need to complete our music video. These are just a rough guide and if we do have certain problems whilst filimg we will have to tailor to the new circumstances.

Music Video Props/Location Ideas

These are the two locations I believe I could capture the essence of what I was trying to portray in my music video product. Two reasons were what made me decide on these locations. The first being that they offered some form of privacy during certain time we planned to shoot which would work to our advantage as we wouldn't have to compete with random people walking in and out of shot. The second being they were fairly local and if any mistakes were made we could rectify them swiftly and move on.
